"This is actually my third and final natural hair journey. I gave up the creamy crack in June 2016 and did the big chop in January of 2017.

There have always been a lot of misconceptions on women who wear their natural hair. In the Caribbean, you’re classed as a church girl but lately it's decreasing because everyone is basically going natural.

I have type 4 hair. A little bit of the ABCs lol. Some tips for hair growth are wearing low manipulation styles, trimming when needed, keeping your hair moisturized and maintaining a healthy scalp. Genetics however, plays a big role as well

Representation of type 4 hair is so important because looser textures are always getting a lot of attention on social media and on television while tighter textures are less featured. Our hair is beautiful as well and needs to be shown the same love. This needs to change!

If you are considering doing the Big Chop, focus on hair health because with health comes length. Lastly love your texture because it’s beautiful and its part of who you are

Some products I’ve been loving for my hair type are Taliah Waajid Apple and Aloe Leave in Conditioner, Camille Rose Naturals Aloe Whipped Butter Gel, Carol's Daughter Goddess Strength Shampoo/Conditioner and African Pride Moisture Miracle Heat Activated Masque."
