"My mom inspired me to become an elementary teacher. Growing up, I was always going to her classroom, helping her with her bulletin boards and decorations, being a volunteer on field trips, and eventually subbing for her class (when I got my teaching degree). I loved every minute of it.
The most rewarding thing about being a teacher is being able to build connections and relationships with your students. It is incredible to see your students grow and develop each day. You build such a special bond and they come to hold such a special place in your heart.
The most difficult thing about being a teacher is that it’s hard to leave your job in the classroom. Most days I come home and continue to do school things, research new learning tools, and just try to think of ways to help my students more. It can be pretty exhausting though!
My advice for those who want to enter the education field would be- Being a teacher means you are preparing the next world changers. It’s hard, but it’s worth it!"
